The short answer

Choose the job before the product. Use a header or DNS check for authentication questions, a placement test for observations across test inboxes, and address validation for list-quality questions. A subscription is only useful when you need repeated checks. This is a documented comparison of capabilities, not a hands-on performance ranking.

Use the question as your buying filter

You don’t need every tool in the category. If an administrator already has the exact error and a confirmed configuration problem, start there. If you need provider-level placement observations for a campaign, a DNS checker alone won’t answer the question.

Avoid the idea of a single universal deliverability score. Products measure different parts of the sending system, using different test environments.

Compare by job, not by a made-up winner

Option Job it can help with Limit to keep in mind
Original headers and our local explainer Reading recorded authentication results No live DNS check, signature verification or trust decision
Mail-tester Reviewing the checks performed on a message you send to its test address A scoring report is not the same as broad inbox-placement sampling
MXToolbox DNS, mail infrastructure and delivery investigation Select the relevant tool; a domain check does not test every campaign
GlockApps Controlled seed placement and message diagnostics Results reflect its test accounts and conditions, not your whole audience
MailReach A B2B-oriented offering that includes spam testing and warmup Evaluate the test coverage and warmup claims separately
ZeroBounce Address-validation and related email tooling A valid address does not establish consent, interest or inbox placement

When GlockApps is relevant

GlockApps is worth considering when the unanswered question is where a controlled message lands across the service’s selected providers, or when you need repeated reports for a changing sending setup.

As checked on 19 October 2026, Essential is $85 with monthly billing. Its annual option is $708 paid annually, displayed as a $59 monthly equivalent. The smallest credit pack is $16.99 for three tests, with those credits valid for one month. Taxes may apply and pricing can change.

The distinction matters: a single check should not automatically turn into a subscription. Start with the current free allowance or an appropriate credit option if it answers your question.

When to compare another service

If your main audience uses managed business mailboxes, ask which test environments the service includes and how it describes their limits. Do not equate a personal provider label with every company’s filtering setup.

MailReach is a relevant product to examine for B2B testing, but its combined warmup proposition should not be treated as independent proof that warmup will repair your account. Read MailReach’s documented offering .

If the issue is stale contact data, address validation may be a better question than placement. ZeroBounce is one option to assess for that task. Read ZeroBounce’s validation options . Removing invalid records does not establish that the remaining recipients expect your message.

A sensible first purchase

Write down the decision the report will inform, the route you will test and the evidence you already have. Check the required credits and whether any expire. Ask whether results can be saved in a useful format.

If you cannot explain what action a result would change, continue the investigation before buying. The email diagnostic can help order the next steps.

What this comparison does not claim

We have not run a controlled head-to-head test of these products for this publication. There are no invented rankings, success percentages or screenshots presented as first-hand evidence. Product capabilities and costs come from public documentation. A future hands-on review will need its own dated procedure and limitations.

Need to see where a test message lands?

GlockApps can show placement in its test mailboxes. Use your actual sending route and read the results by provider. It cannot guarantee placement with your candidates or clients.
